Grand Turk – Cheeseburgers in Paradise

Grand Turk, an island in the Turks and Caicos, is suposed to be the most beautiful island untouched by human hands. When we tendered there some months ago, it was just that – not even a restaurant to be seen, and miles of unspoiled sand filled with whole conch shells and old glass bottles. We all came back with little treasures that day.

But since then, they have built a dock..

The water was the most amazing colour blue, we wanted to jump off the pier and swim under the ship!

We were suprised to see a whole cruise terminal complex that had sprung up, along with duty-free, and a Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Bar.

Look at all these people on vacation! It makes me sick!

This is Daniel and the virgin daquiri that I didn’t spill…

After Daniel had a cheeseburger in Paradise, I took the bike and went to have a swim.
I found a dirt road…

Leading to a beautiful, untouched beach.

And a place in the shade, under an island pine.
