>Just about the best shirt ever

>
You can take a guess at what this says. I have seen a similar shirt in english in Canada. Hint: It’s got something to do with environmentalism. Of course it is way cooler in Russian. I wonder if the Russians have the same double meaning for the name of that animal as we do in Canada. I couldn’t bring myself to ask the guy who was selling them in the black market. If anyone wants one, they’re $15 ( I was ripped off, I know 🙂

    >hey you make me curious…what’ the double meaning in Canada?

  2. Chui Hsia says:

    >A guess at the Russian: Hands off our native beavers? {Giggles and then slinks away ashamed, thinking of the double meaning…}Sorry, haven’t the courage to explain, goofball!

  3. Betsy says:

    >I think it says:Eat a beaverSave a tree!Which was funny even before I thought about any double entendre! 😀 (I’m really punchy this afternoon…)(Is that what it said on the Canadian version as well?)

  4. Ginnie says:

    >HA! Now you really have my curiosity, Stacey!!!

  5. Alexandra says:

    >betsy almost had it. its in past tense, ate a beaver, saved a tree!oh and probably not meant on the t-shirt, but bever definitely has a double meaning- i dont know if its the same as in canada- the russian one is vulgar just to give a hint-

  6. >Thanks, Alexandra!I didn’t know the shirt was in past tense. I thought it said: Save a tree, eat a beaver. And now I can wear it proudly!

  7. Goofball says:

    >Pff neither of you really dared to tell me what the double meaning was. Fortunately there’s always google. And no, i won’t post it either, I wouldn’t want strange google search terms leading to your blog!

  8. Betsy says:

    >Well we’ve already used the term “Beaver” about 5 times so I think Stacey will be secure in her traffic stats for the coming months.Maybe I should mention Goon Squad Sarah’s exponential increase in visits after she included the term “hermaphrodite midget porn” in one of her posts. (I’m sure it was just a slip of the tongue.)Stacey, please let us know if you make some new friends online friends thanks to this post and it’s comments… 😉
