Davao’s Baywalk Beach

>In Davao, with Sherwin’s sister and sister inlaws, we spent a day being tourists.

We checked out a clothing market

Advertisements for skin whitening products are everywhere – like this billboard. I had a hard time even finding hand cream that wasn’t whitening.

There is a lovely waterfront park here which is on the property of a hotel. It’s called the Davao Baywalk and park.

In the parking lot we pick up some supplies

Sherwin gets some balut

With a bag of vinegar

They have grilled fish at the Canada store

Here is the baywalk. It looks like a great place to bring a picnic or a barbecue.

It had a recreation of David, with his privates blocked off

And a little shark tank

I liked this bathroom, how the floor is done with loose beach rocks.

There is even a Little Mermaid here

We sit around and have ice cream and treats.

I try qwek qwek. Don’t ask, but it’s something to do with ducks. It’s a hard boiled duck egg coated in something orange and deep fried. I think the orange coating may be questionable.

Later on we all go to our favourite grill.

Some seafood soup

Spring rolls and my favourite, Kinilaw or Kilawin, depending on your language.
