It’s like Hogwarts for Piano Technicians

For the last year I was lucky enough to be able to attend the University of Western Ontario to study Piano Technology. I was part of a small select group of 13 people and together we learned how to tune, refurbish, and rebuild pianos – 13 hours a day, 7 days a week.. well maybe not 13 hours a day on weekends.  The old campus at Western is beautiful, and the course is the only one of its kind in Canada.     Our instructors were very thorough and precise. I got the feeling of being part of a family that is Canada’s newest generation of piano tuners.  I couldn’t imagine learning Piano Technology any other way.  Featured are some photos of  Western’s beautiful campus in London, Ontario.

Hi Stacey…. WOW, piano tuning, I’m very impressed. probably because I am tone deaf, well, almost tone deaf, especially when it comes to tuning an instrument of any kind. I can hardly tune in the radio!

Well, good for you, Stacey! Long time no see. And no wonder. That sounds like an intensive study program. But look at what skill you can now give the world. Go for it! Tell us more!!!
